New freedom

The best part of my new school can be summed up in one word: freedom. I have tons of free time during the day (about 1/5 huors) in which I can finish up homework or study. I've felt so at ease lately it's beautiful. The campus is huge, too. At first it seemed a bit daunting, but I've quickly found it easier to get around day-by-day. By the end of the week I'll be an expert, haha :)
Also rare up until this point, I can say that  I love every, single class I have. The teachers are all great, and most even have a funny sense of humor. For the first time in years (or maybe even ever) I enjoy math. My teacher is nothing like my old one and makes everything real easy to understand. There's also been a change in me as well, thank God. I don't worry as much about what people think as long as it lines up with God's Word and I'm not afraid to ask questions.
All in all, I'm really happy with how things are.  When it comes to things elsewhere, I know God has a plan and he won't let me down :)

Dinner and paper - yay!

I just got back from my aunt's house for Sunday dinner. She cooked this time and it was DELICIOUS! There were rice and beans, chicken with a Thai curry sauce, chicken pot roast, oxtail (I think it was brown-stew), fried ripe plantains, salad, and homemade whole-grain (or wheat maybe, either way it was fiber-licious haha :P ) rolls she made. I'm probably missing one or two things, but that's okay since I think I listed most of my favorites haha. For dessert we had three-flavor ice cream with a gelatin that had fruit pieces in it. For the beverage we had a homemade fruit drink :) As you can guess, it was all pretty yummy ;) And it was especially cool because afterward my aunt gave me a bag of school supplies. The best part is that I haven't gone school supply shopping yet and I didn't even had papers and pens for school tomorrow. Thank God, when I looked through the bag my aunt gave me there were notebooks, loose-sheet paper, folders, a highlights, a glue stick, pencils, pens, and a pencil sharpener. Thank God!

Laundromat or no laundromat?

My fall semester is beginning again tomorrow :) I'm real excited. I'm going to a new school. To be honest, I was a little bit nervous at first but now I'm just excited. It feels great to be outside of the house now. Distance does the heart well with some family members, haha ;P I picked out my outfit for tomorrow and it's getting washed now :) I wonder which one's the majority - people who have washed their clothes at a laundromat or those who haven't? In developed countried I mean. If I meant this to be directed at every country in the world I'm sure the answer would be those who haven't - a lot of people don't have electricity so I think most people do their laundry by hand. But in MDCs, it seems as though barely anyone does their laundry by hand. It's either they do it at a laundromat, at home, or at a friend's home. So I wonder what the majority is - laundromat or no laundromat?

Mobile blogging at last!

I'd like to give a big thanks to the people at Blogger and Windows Live. Blogger Staff, you made things so easy and cool on here - and for free, too! Windows Live staff: thanks for constantly updating your services. I love the features and I truly enjoy the new themes :) Especially for my e-mail inbox.  :linebreak::tab: Okay, after displaying my sincere gratitude, I'll say why: I'm finally blogging from my phone now :) For the longest time I was trying to figure out a way how, and last night I did. Through Windows Live Mobile (for basic WAP browsers like the one I'm using now) I'm e-mailing this post through my Mail2Blogger. Awesome-ness, right? ;] My mobile phone doesn't have an enter or tab key, so no line breaks or paragraphs, but oh well. I can edit these posts when I'm on the computer again. All the really matters to me is that I can get these ideas out while they're fresh, so yay! Well that's it for now~ xoxo Nu

Prestige over happiness?

I have been thinking about my future as it pertains to college. One of the major questions that keeps coming up in my mind is whether or not I should choose based on prestige or pure happiness more. There's this university I really like (the attitude of the alumni in their reviews is just contagious :) ) , but it's not an Ivy or Stanford. I'll finish this blog with these thoughts:
  • When being perfectly honest, a HYPS school seems to open doors, right?
  • I'm planning on majoring in Neuroscience in a Pre-Med track, so will it really make a difference?
& sorry about not posting during the past few days - if I was able to do mobile posting easily I would have but I haven't figured out a good work-around by now.

Random fact about me today: I prefer drinking beverages to eating :) My cravings and a desire to keep up my metabolism are what usually get me heheh :3
